Shop Your Cause Charity Spotlight: The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation

Posted by on 3:00 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Maureen Eddy Grinnell is VP, Development for the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation.

Growing up, I knew we lived in a special community, but I didn’t think much about it.   Like everyone else I knew, I shopped in Market Square, hung out at the beach, studied in Lake Forest Library, took art classes in what is now Market House Fish House, ice-skated at West Park, and went to “Cellar” dances in the space behind Amidei market.

Moving back to Lake Forest after nine years in California, into a house built in 1902 as a chauffeur’s cottage, I began to realize that none of the iconic landmarks and beautiful streetscapes that make Lake Forest unique are guaranteed to last forever.  But with vigilance, advocacy, and community volunteer and financial support they can be not just maintained, but enhanced and updated for years to come. I’m proud to be part of a growing, dynamic group that protects LakeForest’s future by preserving its past.

Maureen is a former Ragdale trustee and is co-chair of Bernie’s Book Bank’s annual Book Lover’s Lunch.  She and her husband, Dave, are co-principals of Beyond Quota LLC, a skills-building, results-oriented training and consulting firm which helps clients strengthen their competitive position through consistently positive customer experiences.

Come Shop Your Cause…and SHOW YOU CARE!

Posted by on 3:05 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Shop Your Cause is entering it’s 11th year, and it’s just around the corner!

Do you love that feeling of doing a good deed as much as the rush of retail therapy? You can have BOTH at our Shop Your Cause Event from Oct. 8th -11th! Luxe sweaters, capes, and fur trimmed stoles….delicious colors!

We’re kicking off opening night with Magaschoni President Denise Seegal, as she unveils some special pieces for the coming season! We will also be hosting a Spanx Trunk Show introducing their brand new lines (did you know they make leggings and jeans now? Lululemon, watch out!) and Crawford Accessories will be joining us too. They have amazing Stingray bags and Stingray bracelets!

Now, on to the charity part. Ten percent of the retail proceeds from each purchase during the event will benefit local charities and we’ve got 10 for you to choose from!

Come and meet the honorees of each of these 10 terrific local charities:
